BeamScan for characterizing pulsed and CW light sources
The Photon BeamScan scanning-slit beam profiler is considered a legacy product, and is still sold and serviced for customers who currently have BeamScans. The NanoScan is the next generation of the BeamScan, with many additional features. If you do not have a BeamScan currently, and are looking for a scanning-slit profiler, please go to the NanoScan page.
Photon was the first to produce a real time slit-based instrument to measure beam widths. Ease of use and accuracy are primary reasons BeamScan is so widely accepted worldwide. Photon was also the first to use two slits to obtain orthogonal beam widths with one mechanical motion. This method makes the task of measuring the widths of elliptical laser beam faster and easier. The slit is a natural attenuator allowing only a fraction of the laser power onto the detector and produces the profile directly without differentiation and without mathematical filtering.
Scanhead Models:
- Dual Axis Scanheads:
- XY, XYS, XYGE, XYGET, XYLA, XYFIR, XYLAFIR
- Dual Axis Scanheads for use with 1280 numerical beam meter:
- XYL, XYSL, XYFIRL
- Single Axis Scanheads:
- for use with 1180 Controller:
- CP, GP
- for use with 1180 Controller:
Operating Space Charts: Available upon request.
BeamScan Controllers:
Model 3088 - Photon's 3088 controller is now the standard configuration for BeamScan systems. The 3088-1 allows the BeamScan to be used with a standard PCI bus computer (standard desk-top) and the 3088-3 is used with a laptop computer equipped with a standard PC-Card (PCMCIA) interface slot. For more information, get the BeamScan Controllers data sheet or contact Photon for information and quotation.
Models 1180/1280 - BeamScan Controller Electronics Module. Beam size display meter with BNC connector for analog profiles. Use Model 1180 for single-axis scanheads, and Model 1280 with dual-axis scanheads.
